BMW has launched the much awaited 1 series in India yesterday. Instead of going head-on against the likes of the A-class and V40 with dramatic styling, the 1-series has chosen to do things the traditional BMW way: Pure Driving Pleasure. A rear wheel driven drive-train format with the perfect electric power steering and agile body control make for oodles of fun behind the wheel. A 1.6 litre turbo petrol and a 2.0 litre diesel from the 3-series and 5-series round up the engine options. The petrol with a power rating of 136 BHP and the diesel with 143 BHP make for class rivalling figures considering the A-class diesel has only 107 BHP. Interiors seem a direct lift off the 3-series with all sorts of gimmicky features available on the top-end diesel, the petrol being available only on the base version. Make no mistake, this is one of the driving BMWs around with interior quality living up to the brand value. This then is what all you driving enthusiasts out there like me should be pinning up on their wish lists.

Duke 390 all the way..............
Look at it go. |
The KTM duke 390 has touched down on our
Indian roads. The sheer power and looks of the bike are astounding. Give it any
task , it will be up and over it. The KTM
Duke 390 is insane fun and you
will be grinning under your helmet every time you exercise your right wrist.
The taller sixth gear keeps the engine comfortable while cruising (100 km/hr in
sixth is at 5000 RPM, redline comes in at 10,500 RPM). The bike produces so much power that
you will never ask for more. Highly stable when cruising speeds and smartly
designed body, the KTM Duke 390 is an awesome bike.
